Fred DeSarro
DeSarro drove Len Boehler's #3 and Sonny Koszela's #15 to many victories and titles. Pavement Modified champion at Connecticut's Stafford Speedway (1972 and 1976) and Thompson Speedway(1974 through 1977) and 1970 NASCAR National Modified titlist.
He earned NASCAR State Championships in Connecticut and Massachusetts in his career. Among his prestigious wins were a 300-lapper at Norwood (Mass.); the first "Spring Sizzler" at Stafford in 1972 and the 1974 Race of Champions at N.J.'s Trenton Speedway. He died in Nov. 1978 from injuries suffered in a crash during warmups at Thompson Speedway that October.
