Frank Blunk
Blunk was a top N.Y. sportswriter who represented the craft of journalism with style and professionalism in the 60's and 70's.
He was one of the first newspaper writers to see racing as a sport and deserving of respect in the general media. Blunk was a great promoter of local racing and was a fervant supporter of EMPA in its early years.
From 1972 until 2011, The EMPA Writer of the Year award was besowed upon the motorsports writer that best personifies Blunk's spirit and dedication to the sport.
