Mauri Rose was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1906. He began his driving career at a Bridgeville, Pennsylvania in 1927. Started racing at Indy in 1932.

 

At the end of his racing career, Rose returned to engineering full-time and worked with General Motors to help Chevrolet establish its presence in both hod-rodding and stock-car racing.

Mauri Rose died on New Year's Day, 1981.
