Born in 1920 in New Jersey. In the 30's he sold the "National Auto Racing News" in the grandstands. He began writing a weekly column for them at the age of 14. He brought fame to the various drivers who hung out at the famous "Gasoline Alley" in Paterson NJ.

After WWII, the paper resumed publication under a new name. National Speed Sport News and Crhis became its editor.

Soon his weekly column became required reading for all followers of auto racing.

He is considered the "Dean" of all auto racing journalists.

Chris was the first member of the news media inducted into the National midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame.
