VIDEO and BROADCAST CONTEST RULES AND PROCEDURES – 2011/2012

All submissions should be sent to judge Bill Channell on DVD.  They can be sent by mail to: Bill Channell, PO Box 399, Epping, NH 03042 or by Fedex/UPS to Bill Channell, 9 Old State Road, Epping, NH 03042.

DEADLINE: November 21, 2011 – no exceptions.

Entries should be clearly marked with the entrant’s name or names - phone number of contact person - Division and Class they are being entered in - title of the segment/show/video - the name of the TV station/network/video company with address - the date of broadcast or production.

2011 work only, with the exception of video shot in 2010 but not edited and offered for sale until after January 1st. All persons (talent) appearing on-camera (broadcast) or the producer (non-broadcast) must be EMPA members in good standing by December 1, 2011. (This does not include drivers being interviewed, other non-broadcast personnel or guests on the show.)

BROADCAST DIVISION (3 entries maximum – 1 per class)

Class 1 – Local/Regional news segments – must be auto racing related

Class 2 - Local/Regional shows devoted to auto racing – may be regularly scheduled or “specials” but the entire show must be devoted to auto racing.

Class 3 – National news segment – must be auto racing related

Class 4 – National shows devoted to auto racing, as in Class 2

Class 5 – Race coverage of a single event – may be a weekly event, a tour/series race or a special event

In Classes 1 and 3, you may send the segment only. For Classes 2, 4 and 5, please send the entire show.

NON-BROADCAST DIVISION (2 entries maximum – 1 per class)

Class 1 – Race coverage that was not broadcast – may be a weekly show or a special event – but must cover a single program (ex. Oswego Speedway International Classic 2011)

Class 2 – Non-event and compilation videos that were not broadcast. This includes “crash” videos, retrospectives (ex. The Cars and Stars of Langhorne) and any other submissions with an auto racing theme acceptable to the judge.
